Dance is our profession, not just a hobby, and it shows in our professionalism and care for our students. Our age appropriate costumes and music prove our respect for our students.
We’ve established six core values that underpin everything we do.
Teaching correct technique is a priority. We enhance student’s individual strengths to develop as a higher standard of technique as possible across all dance genres.
We give students the knowledge they need in each dance genre. Knowledge allows them to grow and progress, sparking enthusiasm and wanting to learn more.
We aim to bring the best out of every student, treating them as individuals and building a strong foundation from which their confidence can grow.
We are a ‘family’ and we encourage all students to be supportive of each other, helping create strong friendships that often last a lifetime.
Whilst we encourage individuality, teamwork is paramount in all we do. Learning to support each other is a vital skill for development and future life.
We create a fun environment and encourage discipline in all our classes. The discipline we instil in our students will be invaluable in their adult lives.
Emma began dancing at the age of 3, studying a number of dance genres and has gained qualifications in classical ballet, tap, jazz, theatre craft, stage, disco and ballroom. Her training and extreme passion for dance naturally led her into the dance profession and she has over 4 years professional experience working in both the UK and overseas as a dancer, choreographer and lead vocalist.
Emma taught dance for 8 years in various schools across South Yorkshire before opening EPDA in 2008. Emma studied at the prestigious bbodance (British Ballet Organization) headquarters in London, where she graduated as a qualified dance teacher. Her qualifications include a Level 5 Diploma in Dance Teaching from bbodance and a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts. She is also a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher and holds a certification in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) for Junior, Senior and Advanced programs.
Emma takes an active role in the dance community and dedicates most of her spare time to continue her professional development in dance. She is the bbodance North East Regional Representative and is currently training to be a bbodance Examiner.
